A good game that makes you think ... and hunt.

Nice work. This is a really good first level.

It would have been nice to have some more sound efffects for things. Perhaps some ambient background noise or a hiss sound when ou touch the radiator. Just something.

The graphics were very well done. I enjoyed the fact that you could turn around in reasonable increments. This made it much more realistic and less jarring than some games like this where there are only a few steps to turning. The steps were dark, but a nice touch to moving between rooms.

I'm confused why I could not pick up the shaft of the screw driver until I had the handle. Seems odd.

Finally, I noticed a minor glitch you may want to fix fo the whole game. After picking up the GPS and red box, you can still click on where they were a pick them up over and over.

Great work overall! I look forward to more.

Awesome!

I have loved Meganic wars for a long time. It's nice to see an update ... even if the changes are small. This is going directly into my favorites!

A fun game!

Nice. I really like this game.

There is a nice variety of enemies, although it is a little odd fighting against floating enchanted weapons. The enemy movement amimations are sometimes a bit strange, but pretty good overall. Likewise, the art is clear and concise. I've never been a fan of characters with floating hands and feet, but you've managed to make it work pretty well. Add in the backgrounds, and this game looks great.

I like the variety of items you can pick up after battles. The special objects are pretty cool, but it would be nice to have a description of what they do. Currently it's a try-it-to-find-out process that leaves a lot to be desired.

I found a few glitches here and there (like the action menu showing up after a battle is over) but nothing too detrimental.

Oh, and it would probably be a good addition to place some contrasting backgrounds behind some of the text. There are some backgrounds that create a situation with grey text on a grey background and it makes it pretty hard to read (like when spending experience).

Overall, this is shaping up to be a great game. I look forward to a full version.

Meh.

It's good, but this is definitely not a complete translator. For one thing, it only goes in one direction. Since it doesn't translate Leet to English I only found it half useful.

Also, this is only a single character replacement cypher. That in itself is hardly 1337 at all. A real 1337 translator would use a much more complicated cypher to mix up the results a bit. For instance, "W" could be \/\/, \^/, \V/, \//, \X/, etc. Furthermore, caps are treated the same as lowercase.

My final gripe is the music. I understand it's an NG translator and all, but can we please have a volume control for the music. ANY movie with a short loop should have one in my opinion.

It's a good start, but is missing a lot of simple things that would make it much better.

Meh. It's okay.

This is a fun game, but there really isn't any challenge. Eiher that or I'm just lucky. I beat the game by simply holding down the right key, so ... bleh.

Also, I understand your concern about processor speed and creating random terrain, but I really think you should try to add something else to help spice up the game. As is, it's fun ... but not for long. The replayability is minimal at best. Another Newgrounds submission (Cliff Racer) is very similar to this game, but add a little something more (bottomless pits). Even that little tiny addition adds a lot.

Okay, but not very polished.

I think this is the start of a much better game that has yet to be built.

I like the general idea here, but I must agree with other reviewers: it's dull. It's fun for about a minute, but then you realize that nothing else is going to happen and it becomes monotonous and boring.

Aside from needing more gameplay, there are also a couple of other things I found which could use some changes.

1. For God's sake compress your audio. For people like me who immediately turn it off, the wait for a 2.5 MB download was just NOT worth the time.

2. What is with the one-shot-on-screen-at-a-time? That is, IMHO, a really lame limitation for any game. If you backed it up with a reload time concept, I could understand, but you don't so it just comes down to a silly lack of adding the code to allow multiple cannon shots.

3. I don't get the "combo" concept at all. Every hit (even on single boulders) seems to be a combo. How is that possible?

Don't get me wrong here. I like the art and the animation/effects are well done. However, the gameplay is really lacking and that brings down the overall score substantially. There's a lot of room for improvement ... even if you don't want to add a zillion high end features.

Very nice pool game.

I don't usually play pool games, but I really enjoyed this one. I played two matches. In the first, while I was figuring out how to play properly, I lost. But I eeked out a win in the second match. Nice.

The controls were good and pretty clear. It would have been nice to have a larger "handle" for the cue because clicking on the thin little cue line was mildly challenging on the small playfield.

The sounds were fine and the physics engine seemed to work quite accurately. The "after-shot indicators" were a real boon. I doubt I could have won a match without them. I will note that this pool game seems to suffer from one thing that most other pool games also suffer. You just can't seem to get a good break. Maybe you could increase the maximum strike power?

Overall, this is a solid game. I liked it a lot.

Pretty, but lacking gameplay.

I really like the artwork and the style. The game itself, however, was lacking.

I found that you can just hold down the "attack" key and you always win. That pretty much killed the fun right there. Also, when you block, you still sometimes take damage. I guess that is probably more realistic than not taking a single bit of damage, but still it seems wrong. Finally, since it's such a simple game, the replay value is next to zero.

All that aside, I do really like your artistic style. It looks great and the out of focus background fits the scene well.

Very well done, though a bit lacking.

Nice work on this project!

I (also) recently discovered Sudoku. I've been playing a flash version of it on another website for a few weeks now and really enjoy it. You interpretation is nicely done, although there is definitely room for improvement.

Suko, I am unfamiliar with. I like it, but I prefer Sudoku for the challenge.

I noticed a few odd bugs in my travels. Note that I am using FlashPlayer 7 because 8 apparently does NOT want to work in Firefox 1.06. Sigh. Any how, the timer seems to count by thousands, thus making getting on the high score list nigh-impossible.

Also, I found that once a puzzle was completed, when you play again, it start with the empty completed puzzle and you have to click "new" to play a new one. That may not be a bug, but it was a bit odd.

Overall, this is quite well done. I don't see any real need to add sound effects. It's a brain puzzle, so sounds are not really needed (the other version I play I turn the sounds off anyhow). I would like to see a way to temporarily mark a space to help solve the spaces. Perhaps a "pencil" option or something like that. Otherwise it ends up requiring a lot of memorization.

Zen1th responds:

Hi there.

Soku is my own implementation of sudoku for the beginners who think sudoku is a bit hard. It's fun for fast gaming it's way easier to fill. Unlike the word Sudoku the word Soku does really exist in Japanese meaning speed, so there you go ;).

The timer counting in thousands is the idea. If you look at the highscore list you'll find a lot of scores above a million meaning that's more then 1.000.000/1000 = 1.000 seconds = over 15 minutes. So it really is possible to get in the highscore list. If I can do it, why wouldn't you be able to ;).

The "new" thing you pointed out seems like a little bug. Doesn't seem nice but it won't affect the game since you can just hit "new" to regenerate the puzzle.

I thank you for your time and for writing me a usefull review.

Meh.

There's really nothing new or exciting here. You took some pictures of Simpson's characters and traced them in steps and named each step. Exactly how is that a tutorial on how to draw them? To my knowledge, drawing such characters is a more complicated process than just "add eyes", "add nose", "add this", "add that" ... especially if you want to be able to draw them in more than one pose.

Also, it sounds really stupid to write, "Ignor the Spelling Mastakes, if there are any!" in your comments. I really hope it was tongue in cheek becasue it itself is full of spelling mistakes. You wrote a tutorial that is full of spelling errors? That's like writing a music tutorial whcih is full of incorrect notes. You should really either do it right, or don't bother submitting it until it is fixed. Spell check comes standard in tons of software, so you have no excuse to be this grammatically lazy and still expect high scores. You sure won't get a high score fom me.

Aprime responds:

1, i didnt trace them, so i must be so good that even a 32 year old thort i traced it!

2, Its a how to draw, not a how to spell!

3, Whats that I see, it says on the last line fom insted of from!

It is naive to think you can change people. It is equally naive to think you shouldn't try.
